Edmundsbury TRA

The Community Hall is managed by Edmundsbury Tenants and Residents Association who organise the Language Courses. All teachers are paid for their work and profits are reinvested into the Community Hall for the benefit of the community.

Payments

Bookings are ‘subject to availability’ and therefore we cannot guarantee you a place on any event.Booking confirmation will be sent to you immediately for all on-line bookings. If you have not received an email confirmation within 24 hours, of making the on-line booking, and you have checked your ‘junk mail folder’, please contact the team at edmundsbury@icloud.com or on 07939 490702. Payment of the fee is regarded as acceptance of the booking terms & conditions and is non-refundable.

Requests for invoices can only be processed with a valid purchase order and is subject to prior approval.

Discounts cannot be used in conjunction with other offers or discounted rates. At the point of booking the discount offered applies to the person attending the course. Substitutes are welcome however, if they are not entitled to the discount, the appropriate additional charge will be incurred. All discounts must be applied in the Coupon field at Checkout. If you used the discount code ‘unwaged’ you must bring proof of benefits to your first class, along with proof of ID.

Cancellation

Course fees are non-refundable once the course has started. Cancellations made with less than one week’s notice before the start of a Language course are subject to a 100% cancellation charge. We reserve the right to cancel Language classes before the specified date if there is insufficient demand. In this case, applicants will receive a full refund within the week of the start of the course. We require six full-fee paying students to run each course.

If a booking is cancelled, we must be notified in writing at the earliest opportunity. All cancellations will be acknowledged in writing and the following terms apply:

  • No refunds are given if cancelled within 30 days of the start of the course.
  • If you cannot attend the first lesson of a course, you can transfer your place to another individual if you let us know at least 24 hours in advance. You can also transfer to a later course, if there is one scheduled. Places can be transferred at any time up to and including the day before the course. Please note an additional charge may be applicable if the new attendee is not entitled to the same rate.

Injury/Loss

We do not accept responsibility for personal injury or for loss or damage to personal property unless it is due to the negligence of Edmundsbury TRA or its employees. We do not accept responsibility for events outside the control of the organisation such as strikes, bad weather, war, transportation delays or sickness.

Behaviour

The admission of a student is conditional on acceptance of these terms & conditions and of the rules published by Edmundsbury TRA. We reserve the right to dismiss any student whose standard of conduct is unsatisfactory at the discretion of the centre manager. There will be no refund of fees in cases of expulsion and all costs incurred due to this must be paid for by the student.

All students must show respect to the teachers and fellow students. Please be punctual. Discrimination or offensive comments/actions will not be tolerated. People all learn at different speeds, and we endeavour to foster a diverse and inclusive atmosphere in our courses through encouraging the students and acknowledging their progress.

All students are liable for loss or damage to the Edmundsbury Community Hall property for which they are responsible when using it.

Mobiles must be switched off or on silent.

Complaints

Any complaints about the tutors or fellow students, or course material, should be sent to edmundsbury@icloud.com immediately with the facts (dates, times, name) and we will endeavour to resolve the issue.

Food

Tea and coffee making facilities will be available in the kitchen ten minutes before the course starts. You may bring and eat your lunch at the discretion of the teacher.

Force Majeure

In the event of ‘force majeure’ such as fire, flooding, infectious diseases and other events outside the organisation’s reasonable control which may cause the closure of the Community Hall, no refund of fees will be made to students, except at the school’s discretion in exceptional circumstances. If a teacher is ill or cannot make a particular class, the students will be informed and a catch-up date arranged with the agreement of the majority of the students.

If the fire alarm goes off in the hall whilst you are there, you must make your way to the children’s play area in the centre of the square for a roll-call by your tutor.

Data Protection

We will treat your personal information in accordance with data protection legislation. We will use your information for administration, communication and research. To do this we may share your information with any business partners in the UK and tutors.

After the Course

At the end or following the course, students should expect to receive an email asking them to complete a feedback form online. We would ask this is completed and returned to us within seven days to allow us to continue to improve and tailor future events more closely to your requirements.

Disclaimer

All details are published in good faith as of April 2017. All programmes are subject to availability and minimum class numbers. We reserve the right to alter any particulars such as fees at the discretion of the organisation. We reserve the right to cancel any course or close the community hall for whatever reason. Should this be necessary, we shall offer either a full refund. We reserve the right to change these terms and conditions without notice.
